Wet and Wild Blog Hop

Wet and Wild Bloghop Button

Welcome to stop #59 on the Wet and Wild Blog Hop!

Water is sensuous. Water feels good and it looks good—and making love in the water can be incredible. Showers are a natural place for intimacy, especially if they’re built for it. The usual tub with a shower requires some creativity and works better in books than in real life. What would be the perfect shower? In my imagination, it’s be big, maybe six feet on a side. That leaves room to play and for more than two people. It would have a bench built in along one wall. It would need more than one overhead shower spray and maybe a few side ones. It would have one glass wall, with a mirror opposite—because eye candy is part of the fun. We’d need thick mat on the floor outside the shower, in case things continued after the hot water tank was run dry. And I’d want a heated floor for those sexy winter mornings.

Hmm. It seems I’m describing a smaller version of the shower at the Plume, a location of interest in Surrender! (Scroll down to see it. It’s the second story in the Plume Series.)

Beaches can be great places to play, too. (I always think of that scene from the movie From Here to Eternity, with Burt Lancaster, when I think of wild activities on the beach.) It’s the sand that troubles me—all that grit can’t be a good thing. Maybe one of those beach cabanas would be better. Sheltered from sun and wind, shady but with the ocean breezes blowing through, maybe located at an isolated location down the beach. A secret world. Hmm. Now I’m thinking of a scene in The Best Man, which takes place in a cabana.

Where’s your favorite place to get wet and wild? Tell me for your chance to win.

What can you win? Well, there’s a big list. Here we go:

The Plume: The Third Anthology

The Plume: The Third Anthology by Ella Ardent

Isn’t it pretty? This anthology will include Flashback, Switch and Celebration. It’ll be available in a digital edition and also a trade paperback edition. Right now, it’s available at Createspace in print, but will perk through to other portals, probably by the end of the month.

Celebration

CelebrationSmall

Welcome to the Plume – where members are bound by desire and fantasies come true…

Debts are settled and new beginnings are launched in this culmination of the Plume Series. As the former members of the private BDSM club locate each other and undertake an initiative of their own, Athena plans a party to celebrate her new venture. Joanna and Mike will be getting married, even if Joanna’s newest idea is causing Mike some concern. Rex finds new hope in unexpected places, even before he’s presented with a gift that will both thrill and challenge him in the years ahead.

Available at Amazon.
Available at Amazon.co.uk.
Available at All Romance eBooks.
Available at Barnes & Noble.
Available at KOBO.
Available at Smashwords.
Also will be available at Apple and Sony.

btw, I’ve learned something new. My formatter uploads a lot of content directly to Apple, and she said their new rules (from February) require for erotica to have its first category as Fiction-Erotica-General. (These categories mirror BISAC codes, which define the appropriate category for any given work. That tells retailers how to list or shelve books.) Smashwords allows books to have two categories. I’d chosen Fiction-Erotica-General as the second category for Switch, because I didn’t think the order mattered. Maybe it does. I fixed the categories for Switch when she told me that, and have published Celebration with that category first. We’ll see if it turns up in the iTunes store faster as a result. I hope so!

Celebrate!

CelebrationSmall

Celebration has gone to be formatted for publication. The formatter is ready to jump right on it, so I’m hoping to start publishing it before Monday.

YAY! This novella is almost 45,000 words, so you’ll have a longer read this time.

Stay tuned for links etc. Right now, I’m going to have a glass of wine – why don’t you join me and celebrate, too?

Update!

CelebrationSmall

Phew! You’ll all be glad to know that Celebration is very very close. (I’m certainly glad!) I have to go through the whole story one last time, probably add a bit here and there, then will get it to the formatter on Friday. I’ve asked her to do us all a big favor and turn it around quickly, so fingers crossed that there’s time in her schedule for that.

Right now, it’s looking like Celebration will be about 40,000 words in length. The other Plume novellas have been around 30,000 words, but there were lots of loose ends to tie up on this one. I’ve run out of Post-it notes on my desk, and no characters have whispered in my ear for a few days, so I think we’ve got it all covered.

I’ll let you know when it’s published. It’ll go to all the portals roughly at the same time, but will go live at ARe and Smashwords first (because they have no review process), then Amazon, KOBO and B&N. Apple will bring up the rear, as usual.

Thanks again for your patience and I hope you find the final installment of the Plume Series was worth the wait!

Next up will be the anthology of the last three Plume books, in both print and digital. Look for that in June, as I still need to have a cover designed.

Submission is Free Again

SubmissionSm

Submission is free again! I thought we’d celebrate the end of the series by enticing some new readers to start. The new price was quicker to push through the distribution system than expected. Please share the links with your friends!

Look for a free copy of Submission at Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon CA, Apple and Smashwords.

Progress

Well, things are moving along here, but not quickly enough to make anyone happy. I’ve been working through the earlier 8 novellas in the Plume series to make sure I don’t miss anything with Celebration. Thanks to all of you for your patience – I certainly didn’t think this would take so long.

Part of it is wanting to make sure everything is tied up in the last installment, part of it is not wanting to say goodbye and part of it is that things have just been nutty around here.

I am getting close but will tell you when Celebration goes to the formatter. Then it will be just a day or so away.

Late Again

What is it about committing to a deadline that makes everything go crazy? I’ve been living with Murphy’s Law this year, and can’t quite believe how bad it’s been. I’m done with deadlines and promises – maybe then, things will calm down around here.

So, yes, I’m late again and I’m sorry.

And no, I’m not going to make a promise about the publication date of Celebration. Let’s keep those gremlins away this time!

I’ll let you know when it’s published.

If you know any way to make Murphy’s Law stop, I’m listening!

Almost Mid-March

Time for an update on Celebration!

CelebrationSmall

The story is coming along really well – Rex IS behaving himself and his part is done. (Yes, I’m kind of amazed about that myself.)

One of the things I’ve been wanting to do is to have my book files professionally formatted. This will make them look better on your e-readers, and is also an opportunity to get lots of links into them. This means I need to read them all through one more time to check for minor corrections and tweaks. It’s a great moment to do that now – I can ensure that Celebration ties up all the loose ends and that there are no continuity errors in the series. I’m diving into that this week, before I do the final edit on Celebration.

Celebration will also be the first of my books to be professionally formatted right from the outset. I’m hoping that this will mean it is published more quickly at Apple than other titles – things seem to be really slowing down there. It will, though, take a bit of time depending on the formatter’s schedule. We’re trying to keep everything tightly organized! I’d like to try out the pre-order option now available on KOBO but that will depend upon how the time shakes out. That might have to wait until the next book.

At this point, it looks as if Celebration will be a March release, but not one on the 15th.

I’m hoping that by the end of April, there will be beautiful new editions of everything out in the world. You might get the new versions automatically from the portal where you bought your copy, or you might need to request them, but I’ll let you know when they’re available.

And finally, I’m adapting my plan for the future. For the next series, I’m going to write all of it before I begin publishing it. There will be a gap in releases while I write away, but then we’ll have definite release dates for every installment of the next series.

So, there you go! That’s all my news for now.
